Assembling your Raising PEARLS Activity Book

Once you have received your activity book Raising PEARLS: Prepared, Empowered, Armored, Restored, Loved & Secure Children, these are the suggested steps to assemble it with your child. Once you are finished, it will be a treasured keepsake!

Step 1: READ THE ENTIRE BOOK BEFORE READING OR BEGINNING ANY ACTIVITY IN THE BOOK WITH YOUR CHILD

Step 2: Purchase a 3-ring folder with pockets to place all of your copies in.

Step 3: Print or order photos and store in the pocket of folder until you are ready to use:

-Wallet-size of individual family members or a family photo for p.15

-home that the child lives in for p.16

-child participating in sports/activities for p.17

-favorite recent family photo for p.33

Step 4: Either cut out the entire activity section of the book, or have copies made of each page. As you will see in the photo gallery, you might want extra copies for 1. your other children, 2. do-overs - maybe your child wants different colors or the page got accidentally destroyed, and 3. in time your child may want or need to update some of the pages.

Step 5: Get out a copy of page 9 (hand/finger print page with affirmations), and some blank paper and paint or an ink pad. Have fun making your child's hand and fingerprints on the blank paper with various colors of paint, or just the ink pad. Take the one with the clearest prints and cut around it to paste onto page 9. Fill in, or have your child write his or her name at the top of the page, read "You are beautiful..." and have your child repeat the affirmations you read aloud.

Step 6. Color or paint copies of the paper doll, feelings faces, mix-up faces, hair, and clothing. You don't have to do all of these in one day. My daughter and I did the hand prints, just one paper doll, feelings faces and hair in about 30 minutes and had to stop when baby brother woke up from his nap. ** It doesn't matter what colors your child chooses! The point of this is to have fun while spending time together. My 5 year old likes lots of color. Your 8 year old might want the dolls to look as close to himself and family members as possible. Having extra copies to redo as the child grows is a good idea.

Step 7. Choose which activity you want to do next! You're on roll! Have fun as you spend time together with your child! My next step is to laminate the painted pages.
